rain-dear:

When I first heard that Lady G was coming to perform at The Isle of MTV, back in 2008, my reaction was “Who the hell is she??”. I particularly remember her singing “Just Dance” and “Poker Face”. She had 2 back-up dancers with her, and they were rolling behind her, and basically stroking her. I remember turning to my sister and saying “Oh my god. Who is she? What a lesbian!”. (Ironic I know).
I also remember taking videos of her, but deleting them minutes after, in order to create space on my (2GB) memory card; for (my favorite band at the time) The Kooks.
This was at the very beginning of her international career, and she wasn’t particularly famous. She was the first (our of 4) to perform; and it was still daytime. I remember wondering not knowing who she was, as well as how odd she was prancing around with a disco stick. Little did I know that she would have such an impact later on during my life.
She returned in 2009. I couldn’t go to that Isle of MTV as I had an exam the following day. To be honest, I wasn’t particularly interested in her. I had a boyfriend at the time (just saying). She was quite internationally-famous at that time.
When she was here in 2009, she had tweeted something about “being back to the place where it all started”.
I really wish that she includes this petty island in her next worldwide tour. Her international fame began in 2008, when she performed at our dear Isle of MTV.
Oh Lady Gaga, PLEASE oh PLEASE return. I will be there, in the front row, screaming my guts out.
